l;m, Welcome!

I’m just a girl who loves her camera, and I’m slowly learning how to get my camera to love me, too! This is a place where I share what I’m up to, and what I’m learning along the way.

As a wife and mother, my first priority is with my husband, Matt, and my hilarious and adorable 2-year-old boy, Lincoln. I love capturing the little moments of our life together, and my goal is to do so in a way that I can be proud of.

Occasionally, I’m able to do the same thing for others, and that makes me feel very blessed!

Thanks for stopping by!

Reflectors

(I’m back.)

When I was at Skip’s Summer School in Las Vegas, I decided to purchase a reflector to make better use of natural light. A little premature for where I am in my photography journey? Probably! But I know it’s going to be well worth it in the future. I took my husband out recently to play with it, and I was amazed at the difference it made.  These are all straight out of camera. Matt was being super silly (because who isn’t uncomfortable in front of the camera?!). And I’m posting these small so he won’t be too upset! The sun was at Matt’s back, and my giant reflector was to my left, bouncing all the sunlight right back onto Matt’s face. That extra light filling in what would normally be dark makes such a difference! Now I just need to figure out a way to keep my giant reflector from becoming a giant kite!

Charge enough to have an assistant!Isn't the reflector amazing? I have used my a ton now and when I edit the photos I used with it everything is sooooooo much easier in the post processing.
